Default buick 215 aluminum V8

Hi folks, Dave here and I was hoping to find out about a bell housing.I want to put a 5 speed manual out of a late 80s camaro behind my beautiful buick aluminum 215 V8 from a 1963 Skylark. Would a 5spd trans out of an 80s buick fit on to my early Buick engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Dave,

Yes, I beleive the BOP bellhousing bolt pattern would be the same between those years.
Of more importance, I would think, is how well the input shaft mates up with the clutch assembly and the flywheel.
If that all works good, then it should be a simple, striaghtforward swap.

...oh, and unless you have a telescopic drivesharft, that's probably going to have to be shortened and rebalanced, as well.

Dave,

If you are still looking, I have a complete set-up for the 215ci engine. I have a clutch, flywheel, and bellhousing from an original car. I also have a compltete engine. I can be reached at scoomes54@msn.com.
