Question Dazed and Confused

With my Firebird I need to rebuild the 428 engine which was in it when I purchased the car 4 years ago. I'm trying to determine if the car was the Bobcat series from Royal Pontiac converted in 1968. The Build Sheet is Dealer 596 in zone 12. The closest Dealership I can find is out of Missouri, but a different Zone number. On the front of the Block, the engine has stamped 0900014. As this is an odd number (my car's VIN is ....162779 out of 189670 Firbeirds made '67-'68), I wonder whether this engine may have been a Crate engine?

Is there any way to find out what Firebirds were converted from Royal Pontiac (Michigan) in 1968?

Welcome to the board. Your best bet to get the info you need is probably from the PY Board in the Firebird section.

When you click on post reply, there is a section right below the box where you type called "additional options". In that section, click on "manage attachments" and you will bne prompted through to post pics right from your computer.

Thumbs down '68 Firebird Pictures

The engine's coming out this winter and I'm 90% sure we'll rebuild it vs. putting a new crate engine in. Unfortunately the picture file size is too large for this site's capacity. Sorry.
I was able to upload pics. on the Pontiac Years Tech Forum titled "Engine History"
